This is a view from Hunts Mesa, AZ (Monument Valley). The evolutionary speculation is that is 252.2 to 298.9 million years old. Supposedly, layers pile up over millions of years. Tectonic forces then lifted the land, and the buttes came about by slow erosion as streams “slowly cut through” the plateau, leaving mesas.
That word “slowly” is a genuflect to evolutionism. I agree with the “tectonic forces” part, but the Creator, Christ, is the one who lifted the land near the end of his global judgment on the whole earth, the flood.
He created the entire universe, so it was a piece of cake for Jesus, not only to still the storm on the Sea of Galilee (amazing the fishermen in the boat with him) but also to give energy for the tectonic forces to lift the land. The floodwaters quickly cut through the layers of sediment that had formed earlier in the flood. The receding ocean swooshed rapidly down the basins the Son of God also formed to receive the water runoff.
Richard Bellas wrote in March 2022, “If you assume a flood, all the geological data falls into place. It’s kind of like if I’ve got a friend who lives by the river, and they have a flood that leaves four inches of mud on his kitchen when the floodwaters recede. I come along later and say, ‘This kitchen must be thousands of years old! It would have taken that long for the falling dust and airborne dirt to build up this thickness.’ And my friend tells me, ‘No, we had a flood, and all this mud built up in one night. I was here, and I saw it.’”
Eight people in the ark saw it, too, but sadly, scoffers also saw it before they drowned.
There is a future global judgment coming, but this time it will be by fire.
Jesus, who made you and has blessed you all your life, is coming for sinners who trust in him. Sadly, many today also don’t trust Jesus—trusting scientists who never went to crosses.
