Why Don’t Most Egyptians Look African?

Why the Egyptians are not 'Black' Dr. Carter video still

want to go back to something I left hanging in Egypt. It’s a question of why the Egyptians are not black, even though their country is in Africa? It’s an excellent question. How can a people group look very Mediterranean in their coloration, even though they’re on the African continent? Even though we know there’s been immigration from the south as darker-skinned people from the south moved north?

The answer to that is going to open up a window into history and into biology and it’s going to inform us about a lot of other people groups in the world who have mixed with others over time, but at the surface you can’t tell.
