God’s Natural Snorkel System: Whales

Have you ever wondered about the evolutionary claim that the nostril of a cowlike mammal migrated over millions of years to the top of its head while the animal lost its legs and turned into a whale?

Land-dwelling mammals can breathe in through either their mouth or nose. But anyone who’s ever swallowed something down the wrong pipe knows that the openings to our airway and our esophagus are very close together. The systems are connected. Whales can only breathe through their blowhole because their digestive and respiratory tracts are totally separate.

Another difference is that blow holes have muscle around their opening so that they can open or close tightly as needed. The nostrils of land creatures do not.

So I ask you, how could random mutations and natural selection move only one nostril to the top of the head?

Since the time Bruce found Jesus, he has realized that rejection of Biblical truth, justified by belief in evolution, is the acid eating away at the moral foundation of our culture. Bruce spent 30 years working as a research leader for the Dow Chemical Corporation, has a degree chemical engineering, and is responsible for key innovations which have resulted in 18 patents. But his passion is sharing the relevance and evidence for creation, so he retired early to become full time Director of Search For The Truth Ministries.
