Look at these strange fossils. Each individual organism is smaller than a dime, but the paleontologists have decided they are animals. uh and part of the Ediacaran animals from the Precambrian.
It says here the reason they figured out these were animals is because of the abundance of cholesterol in the fossils, which is only found in abundance in animal systems not plant systems. So it’s not a fungus, it’s not a plant. You can’t argue with chemistry; it’s got to be a kind of an animal even though it’s a weird looking animal. You know, like how corals are really animals and they’re a little weird too.
Now, let’s look at this cholesterol. They claim these organic molecules have lasted half a billion years. How could a fragile organic compound actually lasts well it’s because they still contain traces of soft tissue soft tissue that contains organic molecules and they mention it again later — soft tissue after half a billion years — that’s pretty amazing.
