INSECTS IN THE BIBLE – Karl C. Priest

Creeping Things

The word “insect” is not in the Bible. The American Heritage Dictionary defines “creep” as (moving) with the body close to the ground.  Therefore, taking the obvious meaning in context “creeping things” refers to insects.

Some “creeping things” may refer to non-insect arthropods, various “bugs”, and such as lizards.

Note: Many of the Biblical references to “beasts” include insects which are actually “minibeasts”.
