Theories Versus Evidence: Moon Ring Edition

After the New Horizons spacecraft reached Pluto to take clear pictures of, astronomers admitted to being disappointed that they didn’t find any rings around it. Nevertheless, they insist it must have once had a ring. Why?

Because their theory of moon formation predicts rings are part of the process as large objects in space collide and spin off pieces.

They refuse to accept that God made Earth’s moon on day four of the universe, so they they figure that must be true for other planets too.
