Some of the most powerful teaching tools are field trips to real examples of the concept to be learned. Today, we visit a dam and drainage area to experience the power of water.
I wanted to show you just a little bit more of what transpired here during the flooding this spring:
Just south of here is the Arkansas River, and as it overflowed its banks, it came up over here and flooded this whole road and field. Then just over here to the left is a sand pit, with quite the drainage channel carved and shaped by the flowing currents. And, well, you can see what it did to this establishment…
