Building a Logical Case for God’s Existence

Proving God exists in 10 easy steps!

Given: The universe, Cosmos, or Nature are (for our purposes) interchangeable terms.

  1. An infinite regress is impossible, thus the universe cannot have an infinite past.
  2. If the universe cannot have an infinite past, it has a finite past.
  3. If the universe has a finite past, it has a beginning.
  4. Anything that begins to exist has a cause.
  5. Nothing can be its own cause.
  6. To explain Nature, therefore, requires a cause outside of, or “above” Nature.
  7. Thus, the cause of the universe (Nature) is supernatural.
  8. The universe is space, time, energy, and matter. Thus (since nothing can cause itself) the cause of the universe must be spaceless, timeless, immaterial, and transcendently powerful.
  9. Since the cause of the universe must be a spaceless, timeless, immaterial, and transcendently powerful supernatural cause, the cause of the universe is the God of the Bible.
  10. ONLY he fits the description of what is logically necessary to explain the universe.

And that’s how you prove that God exists in 10 easy steps.
