How Do We Know How Old Creation is? Chronogenealogy

Chronogenealogy video still

Biblical genealogy is tedious in some ways but it’s amazing in others, and if we push through the issues, we can learn really incredible things. In this episode, we’re talking about Genesis 5 and 11. These are called chrono-genealogies because they not only give us a list of names but also a list of time frames. Using those chronological details, you can start to build a timeline of biblical history, starting with Adam, going to Noah, and starting with Noah’s family and going to Abraham’s father, Terah. This gives you two huge periods of biblical history that help us to understand how old the earth is and things like that…

In this third installment in our series on biblical genealogy, Dr Rob explains why the data in Genesis 5 and 11 are so important. These are not just lists of names. The added ages allows us to piece together a timeline of biblical history. Problem is, you can’t directly connect the two passages. A several-year ambiguity is created when you try. There are other interesting factoids that pop out when one studies the chronogenealogies, so you will enjoy this episode much.
