On December 21st, 2012, the present cycle of the Mayan calendar will come to a close.
Those searching for a doomsday scenario are quick to exaggerate the significance of this date. Those not grounded in truth may fall prey to such ideas, regardless of their baseless and mythical nature.
Only a small amount of research reveals the history of the Mayan calendar is much less mysterious than often believed. Approximately every 400 years, a long-count cycle terminates and begins anew.
According to Mayan mythology, their gods failed over and over again at creating the world. Finally, on the 14th cycle of the calendar, the world was successfully created.
The Long Count Calendar will reset into another cycle this December 21st… just as it’s done many times in the past. This December marks the beginning of the 14th cycle, resulting in some concluding that it will also mark the end of the world.
According to Scripture, the end of this world IS coming. We’re also told that no man knows the day or the hour.
Prophecies indicate that we will have many signs which foretell the return of the Messiah.
“When these things begin to come to pass, then look up… for your redemption draweth nigh”
