Many people that scoff at the Bible insist it is a fraud based on their belief that it is not scientific. God’s Word was never intended to be a science textbook but where it does mention things that are in the realms of science it is accurate.

For many years doctors didn’t spend much time considering the connection between physical and mental health. It was only in recent years that the medical sciences realized the importance of mental health to physical health.

The Wearing Out of the Natural World
The Second Law of Thermodynamics states that in all physical processes, every ordered system over time tends to become more disordered. Everything is wearing out and running down as energy is becoming less and less available for use. That means the universe will eventually “wear out” to the extent that in theory there will be a “heat death” because there will be no more energy to use. This wasn’t discovered by science until recently, but the Bible sheds light on this subject thousands of years earlier.
Lift up your eyes to the heavens, look at the earth beneath; the heavens will vanish like smoke, the earth will wear out like a garment and its inhabitants die like flies. But my salvation will last forever, my righteousness will never fail. Isaiah 51:6
Healthy vs Unhealthy Fats
The American Heart Association stated: “The major kinds of fats in the foods we eat are saturated, poly-unsaturated, monounsaturated, and trans fatty acids. Saturated fats, trans fats, and dietary cholesterol raise blood cholesterol. A high level of cholesterol in the blood is a major risk factor for coronary heart disease, which leads to heart attack.”
God gave the people of Israel diet laws to protect against heart disease.
The Lord said to Moses, “Say to the Israelites: Do not eat any of the fat of cattle, sheep or goats. ” Leviticus 7:23

Numberless Stars
There are only about 1,100 stars that are visible at any given time with the naked eye. It was only fairly recently that modern man developed ways to discover there are more stars than can be counted. But 2,500 years ago Jeremiah wrote this:
I will make the descendants of David my servant and the Levites who minister before me as countless as the stars in the sky and as measureless as the sand on the seashore. Jeremiah 33:22
Invisible Building Blocks of Matter
It was modern science that discovered that everything is made from invisible atoms. But 2,000 years ago the writer of Hebrews wrote this:
By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible. Hebrews 11:3
Contaminated Meat
Thousands of years before modern science identified bacteria, God sought to protect his people by banning the eating of meat that may be spoiled by bacteria.
“You are to be my holy people. So do not eat the meat of an animal torn by wild beast; throw it to the dogs.” Exodus 22:31
The Shape of the Earth
Ancient tales around the world described a fantastical construction for the earth. The Bible knew better.
He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth, and its people are like grasshoppers. He stretches out the heavens like a canopy, and spreads them out like a tent to live in. Isaiah 40:22

The word “circle” here in Hebrew is translated something spherical, round or arched, not something flat or square.
Only men with the guidance of God himself could have written of things thousands of years before modern man discovered them. The Bible is truly the Word of God.
