Fossils are animals or parts of animals or plants that have been captured under rock layers that have formed from sediment underwater. By looking at these, we can compare the things that lived in the past with the things that are alive today.
Now, for evolution to be true, you have to have had bacteria, the simplest form of life, transforming itself all the way into sea creatures, seaweed, sea animals, then fish with backbones, followed by those that crawled onto land and became amphibians, that became reptiles, that changed scales into fur or feathers to became birds, mammals, and finally monkeys and people.
So, this enormous continuous transformation of one kind of animal into another supposedly happened over about a half a billion years of earth history. Now why do people believe that? Because the alternative is God literally created the specific forms of life.
From horseshoe crabs to coelacanths, living fossils have remained virtually unchanged throughout history. While evolutionists see them as a mystery, living fossils point to something greater: God’s perfect design that has stood the test of time.
