You Can’t Argue with Success: Our Eyes

Hey all!

If any evolutionist ever tries to tell you that the inverted (backwards) retina is evidence of evolution’s trial-and-error poor design and evidence against God being a good Designer, just tell them that you can’t argue with success.

All vertebrates (things that have a backbone) have inverted retinae

Your own eye can register 6 quanta of light. That’s like a candle 14 miles away on a perfectly clear and dark night (at the extreme human ability that is). Squid with eye: photo credit: Max Pixel

Invertebrates have non-inverted retinae, but an octopus or a snail just cannot see as well as the creatures with the inverted retinae.

If it’s such a poor design, then why does it work so well?!

And why did God give mollusks such bad eyes?  For an octopus or a snail, well they tend to stay out of harsh sunlight either in the shade or under the water.  ~Dr. J
