Budgie Mutant

by Richard Gunther:

Many breeders of animals like to keep the ‘odd’ offspring. In Japan, goldfish with deformed bodies and bulging eyes are considered valuable. Some dogs have flattened faces, and in the world of birds, budgies with deformed feathers are kept alive as novelties.

These poor little birds are the result of a mistake in the genes, a copying mistake, when some DNA code has been incorrectly followed. The birds don’t usually live long. They cannot preen or fly, and their muscles are tiny, and in the wild, they would not last long.

Evolutionists claim that mutations helped living things change from one kind to another over time, but real, observed living things always suffer in some way from mutations.

“Feather duster” budgies are yet another example of how incorrect evolution claims add nothing to good science.

Mutant Brains

by Paul Humber:

Creationists do not deny mutations, but we see them as overwhelmingly deleterious. People mock the Bible that people before the flood lived hundreds of years: they don’t believe it, but it makes perfect sense.

Initially, our first parents had zero mutational drag on their bodies. As soon as they sinned, however, the Creator, true to his promise, pulled the mutational switch. They started dying the very moment of their disobedience. It took a while for mutations to pull humans down, so they lived longer than today. However, maybe there was a high percentage of mutational negativity during and after the flood because humans lived less long.

The size of many animals also diminished, and extinctions increased. Going from huge variety to less variety is the opposite direction of fictional “evolution.”

Mutation and Human Exceptionalism: Our Future Genetic Load

…the brain is a particularly large mutational target, this is of particular concern. ~Michael Lynch, Department of Biology, Indian University, Bloomington, Indiana

A Genetics article reports: “The long-term consequence…is an expected genetic deterioration in the baseline human condition, potentially measurable on the timescale of a few generations in westernized societies, and because the brain is a particularly large mutational target, this is of particular concern.”

The effects of our first parents’ rebellion are still bringing us down to death. There is one hope, however. The One who gave warning to Adam and Even eventually came to take the penalty for human rebellion. He took my sin and the sins of many others. There is still time for you to pray to him. Humble yourself before Him. He hears prayer. Ask Him to forgive your sins and cover you in His perfection.

Hi, I’m Cheri Fields: 2nd generation homeschooling mom of seven, wife, writer, and science lover. There is a wealth of information available to help people see how trustworthy God and His testimony in the Bible is. The key is to explain concepts simply so they can be understood by anyone. This is my goal, and I’ve had a lot of fun tackling areas where the world tests our faith. CreationScience4Kids.com
