Fly Like an Eagle

Wendy McDonald, Wait on the Lord with bald eagle soaring over water

I love bald eagles and have taken so many pictures of them in our valley that I’ve had several people tell me they think of me when they see one.
I think of the Lord when an eagle soars overhead. I think of how He has helped me rise above difficulties when I surrendered my cares to Him. I think about how He restores my strength so I can continue on a path that sometimes seems impossible to travel.

Many times when I’ve been thinking about God and His provision, an eagle suddenly appears in the sky. I know we’re not to seek nor worship signs, but I can’t help but thank Him each time a timely appearance of my favorite bird happens.

The Lord carries us through the hard times on wings of eagles. I appreciate His care and attention because I couldn’t travel this life alone.Bald eagle against blue sky, photo credit: Wendy McDonald

A bald eagle lands
In the fir tree above me
My spirit flies like an eagle
When I cast my cares
On our Creator.

But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength;

they shall mount up with wings as eagles;

they shall run, and not be weary;

and they shall walk, and not faint.
