Our Designer

Have you evertaken time to look at the amazing world that God designed? God is so amazing! Everything that He’s made from the beginning, in the book ofGenesis, is so intricate and complex. Revelation 4:11 declares, “Worthy are You, our Lord and ourGod, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and because of Your will they existed, and were created.” Only a Savior, Maker of the Earth, Creator, & King of Kings could have done that. It doesn’t just happen in a… big bang. It is our Creator!

Let’s look at a few examples of God’s amazing creation! Just look at the picture above and see that spider web. You may think that’s just an “ordinary” spider web, but it’s not. Look how intricately designed it is. Only our amazing Father could have created that masterpiece!

Did you know that some spiders eat their silk (known as the web)? The silk is a protein and it gives the spider energy. Just like the silk… God gives us our energy and wisdom through His Word. It is our meat to live on and it makes us stronger in our relationship with Him. It never makes us thirsty again! John 4:14 says, “But whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”

Did you know that the stretchy and lustrous spider silk is used to create the spiral that captures prey? When a fly comes into that web, it immediately gets stuck. Just like that stretchy web, we need to be prepared as Christians. We never know when a trial is coming our way. We need to be prepared to have the Word of God always in us. It’s important to memorize it and have it on our hearts- always! So, just like that spider is prepared, if prey comes, we need to be prepared as Christians to fight our enemy. We need to fight with the Word of God!

Did you know that hummingbirds use small sticks and the silk from spider webs to weave a nest for themselves? Just like spiders help hummingbirds we, as children of the Lord, are supposed to help our brothers and sisters in Christ. We need to show the love of Christ. John 15:12 says, “My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.” Galatians 6:2 declares, “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”  When we love others and help others, we will be blessed. It’s amazing how God created everything for a reason and a purpose!

Now, let’s look at the human body. It is so elaborate. Genesis 1:27 says, “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.” God made humans in His image, so that the world would be filled with reflectors of God. Images of God. God created us to know Him and love Him.

When someone sees a newborn baby for the first time, they often say something like “She looks like her dad. or “He has her mother’s eyes.” The resemblance is expected—children will most likely look like their parents and other family members. God made us that way. Not only did He intend for our physical features to resemble our family, He also designed us to resemble Him—to express His nature, His character, His spirit. He created us to look like Him and reflect His image. We are all fearfully and wonderfully made!Psalm139:14 says, “I will praise thee; forI am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.” God is so wonderful. Genesis 1:31 says, “Then God looked over all he had made, and he saw that it was very good! And evening passed and morning came, marking the sixth day.” He has created everything perfect!

Here are some amazing facts about the human body!

1. More than half the bones in your body are located in your hands and feet.
2. There is enough iron in the human body to make one small nail.
3.Every person has a unique tongue print.
4.The human nose can remember 50,000 different smells.
5.The human eye can detect more than 10,000,000 different colors!
6.The spinal cord is less then two feet in length and is the same diameter as your index finger, yet it contains over 10 billion nerve cells.

These stunning facts are, but a few and yet we realize how truly amazing our Creator is! God intricately created humans and animals who are incredibly and precisely detailed. God uses everything for His glory and honor! When we look at the sky, the birds, the squirrels, or butterflies it all speaks of God. I challenge you this week, whenever you are outside, take the time to look at His creation and think about our Designer. Let’s praise Him for the beauty that surrounds us!

Nehemiah 9:6 declares, “You alone are the LORD Youhave made the heavens, The heaven of heavens with all their host, The earth and all that is on it, The seas and all that is in them You give life to all of them And the heavenly host bows down before You.”

  1. Emma,
You never cease to amaze me!! Or should I say that God’s creation of you never cease to amaze me. You are beautiful — inside and out. God has given you so many gifts to use for Him. This article is absolutely wonderful!! I look forward to your next one!
    Love,
    Jackie

  2. Emma,
As always, I thoroughly enjoyed reading your writing and have learned something. Your article reminded me of the verse I focus on when I see a bumble bee, Philippians 4:13. Logically they should not be able to fly but they do because that is what God created them to do: “I (we) can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens me.”
    Blessings,
    Suzi
